Milwaukee Admirals claim forward Chase DeLeo Charlotte Checkers on waivers.
Del Rio signed a one-year AHL contract with the Checkers, but was placed on AHL waivers as he began the season in Europe. He played in 9 games with HC Barys Astana of the Kontinental Hockey League and 4 games with Zurich SC of the Swiss National Hockey League.
Del Rio, a 10-year pro player from La Mirada, Calif., has spent his entire career in North America until the 2024-25 season, including stints in the AHL with Manitoba, San Diego and Utee Card’s 494 games. He totaled 135 goals and 214 assists for 349 points in the AHL.
Del Rio was drafted in the fourth round of the 2014 NHL Draft out of Winnipeg and has played in seven career NHL games with the Jets, Anaheim Ducks and New Jersey Devils.
