Yankees sign Rob Zastryzny

Yankees announced Monday morning that they have signed left-handed relief workers Rob Zastryzny Set up a minor league deal and invite him to join their Major League Baseball. Zastryzny was designated as a mission by the Cubs last week and was cancelled after he was exempted from unclaimed. However, the veteran Southpaw has the right to reject the task in support of free agents. The Cubs never officially announced that he did so, but the Yankees announcement this morning made it clear that that was what happened.

Zastryzny, 32, has been playing in part of six major league seasons and has mastered nearly two years of Major League Baseball services. He threw 7 2/3 innings with the 2024 winemaker, allowing only 1 hit and five strikeouts. He has also seen major league time with the Cubs, Metropolis, Angels and Pirates, with an average score of 4.30 in 67 innings.

Zastryzny fanned its opponent’s 18.2% with a 10.5% walk rate. His 44.8% ground ball percentage is just a lot better than the average, but he excelled when keeping the ball in the yard, limiting his opponent’s average home runs to 0.40 per 9 frames. The left-handed was particularly powerless and hit only .189/.319/.232 in 113 sets. Instead, the right burned the 6’3-inch Southpaw at a speed of .311/.372/.447. Zastryzny showed up to 3.03 ERA on Triple-A last season and 4.69 points in eight seasons (409 innings) at that level.

Currently, the only left-handed man in the bullpen is Tim Hillhe re-signed the Bronx in a one-year contract earlier this month. Zastryzny joins senior Tyler Matzek As a non-member inviter with experience in the camp. Despite enough unsigned veterans, the Yankees can still bring someone into a guaranteed agreement, but he will compete with Hill on the Pen.
