Winemaker, Manuel Margot agrees to minor league deal

Winemaker and free agent outfielder Manuel Margot According to Jon Heyman of the New York Post, the minor league agreement is abide by. Wasserman clients will be on the MLB camp for the rest of their spring training. Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Diary Tournament first reported that Margot was at the winemaker’s club this morning.

Margot, 30, spent the 2024 season with the twins after two trades in the 2023-24 offseason – first from Tampa Bay to the Dodgers and then from Los Angeles to Minnesota. Twins deployed his queuing option as a corner outfielder Trevor Larnach and Matt Warnerwhen they were still showing up in the center Byron Buxton Not in the lineup. He released an ugly .238/.289/.337 slash this season (21% below average by WRC+) but Margot on the right is productivity for Southpaws. In the 171 set, he hit .269/.332/.391.

Margot was a senior defensive player earlier in his career, one of the top outfield gloves throughout the baseball game. Starting from 2016-21, he recorded nearly 4,500 innings in all three outfield slots, where he recorded registered numbers: 41 defensive runs saved, 21.6 Ultimate Zone ratings, 53 times above the average.

Margot’s career turned in 2022, when his right knee waist tendon suffered some tears. As a result, he missed nearly half of the season. Margot reached .302/.365/.423 when he was injured in June, but only called the .240/.276/.318 line after returning at the end of the year. Since returning from injury, he turned in 849, he was a .249/.295/.349 batsman. His once elite sprint speed – Margot made his debut at 99% in 2016 – about dropping to the league average (53% last year). Not surprisingly, the loss of sprint speed is directly consistent with a knee injury.

While he can still play all three outfield positions, Margot’s average was slightly below average in 2024 with Minnesota. He may get some agility back as he gets further from his 2022 injury, but returns to his 70 or 80–the speed of grades won’t happen when he enters his 30s.

Brewers’ outfield has a complete outfield Jackson Chourio,,,,, Garrett Mitchell,,,,, Sal Frelick and Blake Perkins All time is competing for time. Christian Yelich It may be seen in the left field for at least a while, but as the injury history continues to grow, he will increasingly deploy on designated hitters. (Yelich’s 2024 season ended in August due to back surgery.) Margot’s right-handed bat could supplement left-handed Mitchell and Frelick, but chourio hit it With his right hand, Perkins is the batsman on the right side of the plate.

Margot’s injury will bring some depth to the club, but he is not making the club’s lock. He is also an XX(b) free agent (i.e., for over six years of service, ending the season on the Major League Baseball/Injury Roster), which means he will have three unified opt-out dates in his minor league contract: Opening days (March 22), May 1 and June 1, he can opt out and choose to become a free agent if he is not in Milwaukee’s 40-man squad.
