Use these 5 simple keys to build a consistent placement routine

Placement routines are crucial to your success on green. Developing your own daily routine will help you build confidence and consistency in the game. By following these five keys, you can increase the chance of rolling the first putter against the hole and hopefully sinking some more putters in the process.

1. Evaluate putter

The first step in any good placement routine is to evaluate length, slope, and elevation variations. Having this information will help you understand the line, speed and damage of the putter. And, you don’t have to wait to start green to start evaluating putters. As you go toward green, pay attention to the inclination of green, which may be a useful angle to read about green. Look for extremes and lows to get a piece of land.

Once you are in green, measure the average length of the putter. Consider whether the putter is uphill or downhill, as this will affect your speed. Uphill putters usually require longer backstroke, while downhill putters require shorter strokes.

For longer putters, distance control is key. On putters of medium and short lengths, the ability to read and rest is more important. 2. Have a realistic practical stroke
