Like everything about PGA Tour and Saudi PIF, we will learn more when we know more. but something Thursday saw significant significance at the White House, which will affect the future of professional golf for men.
In fact, Thursday’s meeting was a series of important latest ones. President Trump launched the meeting after meeting with PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan and Tour Player Director Adam Scott, and later with Tiger Woods Play golf. This time it’s all the above, plus PIF Governor (and Liv Golf Chairman) Yasir al-Rumayyan, who joined Trump at the White House (Al-Rumayyan, we assume, we’re all joining remotely). The meeting lasted for hours and was accompanied by a zealous speculation that some kind of initial deal might be reached as early as the end of the day.
Instead, we get a brief statement from Monahan, Woods and Scott, who delivered what he called “update” at a “constructive work conference” with Trump and Al-Rumayyan.
“Thanks to President Trump’s leadership, we launched a discussion on golf unification,” Monaghan said. “We are committed to moving as soon as possible and will share other details where appropriate.
“The importance of our passion and unity in the game. Most importantly, we all want the best players in the world to play together more often and are committed to doing everything we can to bring this result to the fans.”
That’s not much-but it’s not all-nothing either.
First of all, respect. Granted to al-Rumayyan here, here called “him”, his Lord. To Trump, he once again expressly thanked his leadership; those involved in these meetings have publicly kissed the ring.
If it’s unclear, Jay Monahan does call Yasir al-Rumayyan “him”

There is also a dual focus on unity. Both the “Unified” and “Important” versions are used multiple times. If you keep your eyes open and wonder what these two sides have been doing over the past two years, that’s not fair. But that’s due to the increasing confidence of Monahan, Woods, Scott and others.
Still, the unresolved question remains the biggest question: What happens on two trips? The statement puts “the best players in the world play together more often” as the Polaris, but it is a requirement that is met by folding under the PGA Tour or some sort of free-flowing two tours. From the PGA Tour, it is obvious that the ultimate goal is a unified tour, but Al-Rumayyan has taken so much attitude toward Liv and believes that in the golf team, the compromise will inevitably include the right Something nodding from the tour.
It is clear from the whole program how much has changed in the landscape over the years. All negotiators are motivated to find common ground. Everyone can win.
Liv’s role in the future of men’s professional golf, Al-Rumayyan and Saudis are sitting on the table they want and are closer than ever to investing in the PGA Tour, a move that will bring them to the They act side by side. Strategic Sports Group is a large number of powerful sports owners. This is an important moment for the normalization of Saudi sports investment.
Monahan and the Tour leadership can satisfy the satisfaction of bringing professional golf back together. While we don’t know what this looks like, we can think that the tour fans have missed some of the top pros – think Bryson DeChambeau, Brooks Koepka, Jon Ram Jon Rahm, Joaquin Niemann, choose your choice – whether it’s this year or the next.
During a time of great uncertainty, Woods, Scott and other players were together to stabilize the PGA Tour. They can claim victory to know that their trip will change during this period, be reshaped, and may be reshaped, but ultimately retained.
There is also Trump, who lives and breathes golf with Liv and Saudi Arabia and has extensive business dealings with this tour. It was his world; in public appearances after the meeting, he led the ode to “ti-ger” and praised Scott (“I kept trying to sway like Adam, and never worked that way” ), he just wants to be a toast for the game.
Incentives are consistent. The meeting continued. The problem still exists.
