Google Maps, the FAA officially acknowledged the American Bay after Trump announced: “Isn’t it beautiful?”
The name changed from the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America, the Bay of America, began launching throughout the United States on Monday, just a month after President Donald Trump announced his intention to Americanize the name.
On Monday, the FAA issued a chart notice confirming that its system is updating its name, in addition to the new Alaska name Mount McKinley, formerly known as Denali.
“Please note that the FAA is updating our data and charts to show the name changed from the Gulf of Mexico and from Denali to Mount McKinley. This will be directed to the next publication loop,” Notification Read.
“This chart notice implemented President Trump’s instructions in the 14172 execution order, ‘restored the name of honoring the great American,’ the name will change.”

On January 7, Trump announced that he would name the Gulf of Mexico and signed an execution order a few weeks later.
“We will change the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America, which has beautiful rings. It covers a lot of territory,” Trump said Tuesday. “The Gulf of America. What a beautiful name. It’s a good fit.”
On Monday, social media users could receive the decision well, and the latter began to notice changes implemented by Google Maps.
“Google Maps finally recognizes the Gulf of the United States!” wrote an X user. “Isn’t it beautiful?”
Another said, “I hate Google, but TBH, I said the Bay in America has zoomed in all the way.” “Boys are glorious.”

Another commentator wrote: “Google Maps bows to Trump.”
The change also happened after Trump announced February 9 as “American Bay Day” on Sunday.
Trump flew over the body of water on his way to Super Bowl Lex in New Orleans while signing the presidential order.
“Air Force One is currently in international waters, flying over the recently renamed Gulf of the United States for the first time in history,” the White House wrote in a post X.
In the announcement, Trump wrote that he took action, “partially because it was stated in that order,”[t]His formerly known as the Gulf of Mexico has long been an integral asset to our once-coming nations and remains an indelible part of the United States. ”

Google previously confirmed that it intends to update the Bay’s name based on local authorities.

“We received some questions about naming in Google Maps,” Google Said in X post. “When we update the name in official government sources, we have a long-term practice to apply name changes… Everyone in the rest of the world can see both names. This applies here as well.”
