‘Alice’ star Linda Levin dies at 87

Linda Lavin, the award-winning actress best known for starring in the beloved sitcom Alice, has died. She is 87 years old.
LaVine was recently diagnosed with lung cancer and died Sunday from complications from the disease, a representative told The Associated Press.
She had been active in the weeks leading up to her death, appearing at the Los Angeles premiere of the Netflix series No Good Deed earlier this month.

By the 1970s, she moved to Los Angeles, where she began working as a television actress. She appeared in an episode of “Rhoda” and then had a small role in “Barney Miller.”
In 1976, she was chosen to star in a new CBS sitcom based on Ellen Burstyn’s Oscar-winning waitress comedy-drama Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore (Alice Don’t Live Here Anymore).
The film’s title is shortened to “Alice,” in which Lavine plays Alice Hyatt, a widowed mother who takes her 12-year-old son to a roadside diner outside Phoenix. work to earn a living. The show aired from 1976 to 1985, with Raven singing the theme song “There’s a New Girl in Town.”

Lavin continued to work until his death. In addition to her performance in “No Good Deed,” she also appeared in an episode of “Elsbeth” this year. Last year, she lent her voice to an episode of Bob’s Burgers.
