There are four variants of the Callaway Elyte driver.

True Spec Golf’s Master Fitters saw it all while at the golf club and how they were able to connect with the players’ swing side (or not connected). But, in their surveillance of consumers, they monitor the most closely: versatility, especially with the driver.
So when Fitters evaluates the new driver range, they will look at which companies offer great products not only in one club and throughout the production line. Having three or four driver options can help golfers find the right technology that suits their specific needs easier.
The drivers this year are not disappointing. Late last year, at Club Testest 2025, Golf and True Spec performed in Desert Mountain in Scottsdale, Arizona, and True Spec Fitters went through all the latest and greatest clubs through their paces, relying on the day-to-day golfers to gain insights.
Over the next few months, we will showcase a variety of learning and takeaway from our testing process, starting with a highlight of a driver line that is striking for its versatility.
But first of all, one word during our testing process…
Why is player testing so valuable
When evaluating golf clubs, we use the expertise of fitters. But player testing is also essential because it provides practical performance insights that robots or lab tests alone cannot be captured. In our process, our true spec golf master fitters captured data from each tester and even tested all the new product itself. Although there are differences in using players who have different skill levels for testing, here are some reasons why player testing is beneficial:
1. Real-world performance: Golfers use clubs under different conditions, including various weather, grass types and course layouts, which helps determine how the club performs in real-life situations.
2. Feedback on feeling and comfort: Players can evaluate how the club feels during swing and impact. Factors like weight distribution, grip comfort and feedback on mistakes are crucial for club choice.
3. Variability of swings: Unlike robot testing, human golfers have unique fluctuations, rhythms, and impact patterns. Players test accounts for these changes to ensure the club performs well in a range of golfers.
4. Comparative test: By testing multiple clubs, golfers can compare them side by side and determine which game is best for distance, forgiveness, accuracy, and consistency.
What’s our test showing
In this club quiz deep dive, we are taking a closer look at the driver line that our fitters and testers recognize their versatility: the Callaway Elyte family, which has four models of four different player types (Elyte, Elyte X, Elyte X, Elyte X, Elyte Three Diamonds and Elyte Max Fast).
Our testers admire the Elyte series for its appeal to every waiter. In Elyte’s core model, 12 Handicap tester Jeff Smith said: “This feeling is a powerful mix of clubs while still feeling for tolerance. It feels like bottled power. There is no need to sway, the ball starts to explode from the club’s head. It feels like it’s just that. Like I’m in the center of death every time.”
Jerry Welker is the 17 hurdle, tested the X model and pointed out that “the club popped up instantly”, adding: “I need to miss forgiveness, which can do that.”
In the Max Model, Prue is 18 obstacles, he said: “Sound and performance are the best. Forgiveness is better than I used to.”
How do you say the data?
same.
To get a better idea of how the Core Elyte model stacks with Callaway’s 2024 Core Drive (AI Smoke Max). In the test session, you can view it here or in the video player at the bottom of this article, Elyte’s ball speed is close to 2 mph and the total distance is 8 yards.
“I also want to see a little bit of rotational rate drop to improve efficiency in the strike,” Covino said of the 234 rpm tilt.

How technology works
The Elyte lineup includes not only drivers, but fairway wood, hybrid and irons – designed to help golfers, whether they want to increase distance, improve accuracy or get more forgiveness.
Many next-level technologies are working in the Elyte series, but the headline element is an integration of AI 10X facial technology that enhances the speed of the ball, which brings more faces and thus longer shots , and with more carriage and heat-efficient carbon crowns, carbon crowns, which make the best CG position for low spin and high emission.
Another cool feature: a combination of carbon fiber and tungsten weight distribution, which increases forgiveness and makes it easier to recover from misfortune.
How to find the right driver for your game
Although the Elyte series offers significant technological advancements, the benefits of maximizing clubs still require proper club cooperation. Custom accessories involve tuning the club to match individual unique swing mechanisms, body measurements and playing styles. This process ensures that the equipment complements the golfer’s strengths and mitigates its disadvantages. Benefits of custom accessories include:
• Enhanced swing mechanics: The right club promotes better posture and consistency, resulting in more consistent and more effective fluctuations.
• Improve confidence: Knowing that your device has been optimized for your game can increase confidence, allowing you to focus on strategy and execution.
• Improve performance: Customized clubs can improve distance, accuracy and consistency, resulting in lower scores and more enjoyable golf experiences.
