The Warriors are in a tough spot right now, and Stephen Curry got candid about their season.
The Golden State Warriors are super centers and don’t have any consistency at all. Curry kept the team on his shoulders, but ultimately it wasn’t enough.
He said it was an “emotional rollercoaster”.
“It’s been an emotional roller coaster this year and it’s very volatile right now,” Curry told ESPN’s Ohm Youngmisuk. “Similar to the situation at that time [2021-22 season that ended with a championship].
“I think it’s going to be a challenge for us to stay confident in what we’re doing and what we’re building. We’ve got to maintain it before time runs out.
The four-time champion has made some cryptic comments to the media recently, but said he’s fine with the team not making too many changes before the deadline and that he just needs everyone to put their finger on the ball.
“[We’re] Trying to be a real threat in the playoff series,” Curry said. “If Mike called and said, ‘Hey, here’s an opportunity to do X, Y, Z,’ I would give my opinion.
“My hope is [if there’s no action at the deadline]not because of lack of effort. If we don’t have a chance to get better, all I think about is I want to win, whatever that means, and all the effort is directed toward that goal, then whatever happens, I’m okay with that.
Despite the ups and downs, Curry is always a winner, and he said Wednesday that anyone who thinks he can work on an average team is “crazy.”
His goal is to win the fifth chip before sunset, and he believes the Warriors are capable.
“100 percent feeling like we can beat anybody in a playoff series because we’ve done it,” Curry said. “We have the expertise, we just want to be able to answer that question through the way we play, not imagine.
“…We’ve been there. We know what to do. It just feels like we can do it again.
