Sponsor invites Akie Iwai to run out with 3-shot lead in Thailand

Pattaya, Thailand – Akie Iwai makes the most of the sponsor’s invitation to the Pattaya Old course at the Siam Country Club in the first round of the Thailand Championship at LPGA, He shot 62 shots by three and led by three.
The Japanese player started with four birdies and then took three more in the round. Her three holes in the last four holes are equal to the 18-hole record set by Yuka Saso, a country woman, in 2022 and American Jessica Korda in 2018.

The 22-year-old Iwai won a member of the LPGA Tour after finishing fifth in the LPGA final last year.
The three poles behind are World Noda Maja Stark in Sweden. He had a hawk, six birds and one bird to burn 65. Moriya Jutanugarn, the most popular local, has six birdies and a bogey, ranking third at 66.
Birthday girl Jeeno Thitikul, second in the world, was 22 and 68 on Thursday, defending Thailand’s champion Patty Tavatanakit shot 71.
The event is the first stop of the LPGA Asia swing, before the Tour moves to Singapore and China in the next two weeks.
