Opener: Hall of Fame, Profar, MLBTR Chat

We’re just a few weeks away from the start of spring training, and today we’ll be focusing on three things happening around baseball throughout the day:
1. Hall of Fame voting results:
The results of this year’s Hall of Fame voting will be announced today at 5 p.m. Central Time. Anyone who gets 75% or more of the vote will join the infielders dick allen and outfielders Dave Parker As part of the 2025 Hall of Fame class. This year’s class is headlined by outfielders Ichiro Suzukihe has a chance to become the second unanimous Hall of Famer in baseball history. Mariano Rivera. Another newcomer with a chance to be elected is a lefty CC Sabathiawhile being closer to Billy Wagner He is entering his tenth and final year of eligibility, but after receiving 73.8% of the vote last year, he is likely to be elected. Ryan Thibodaux’s BBHOF Tracker records all publicly disclosed votes and estimates that 50% of the total votes are currently disclosed. If the remaining votes fully reflect the publicly announced votes, then Suzuki, Sabathia, Wagner, and Carlos Beltran All will be elected this cycle.
2. Will Profar’s market start to heat up?
Top remaining outfielder on the market, switch slugger Anthony SantanderYesterday he signed a five-year contract with the Blue Jays, guaranteeing him an annual salary of $92.50. Santander’s exit from the market could have a significant impact on the last remaining top outfielders on the board, Jurikson Profal. Profar had a stellar platform season in San Diego, slashing .280/.380/.459 and the best all-around performance of his career to date, but the All-Star has struggled in his age-32 season. The solid record appears to have led the club to pause free agency.
That has resulted in a quiet market, but with Santander off the board, some of his rumored suitors may shift their focus from one corner outfielder to another. The Angels, Tigers and Red Sox have all been linked to Santander to varying degrees but have yet to find a replacement via free agency or trade. Profar is reportedly looking to sign a three-year deal this winter. A return to the Padres may not be realistic as San Diego is facing a severe budget crunch and may have to clear other salary commitments to make room for him.
