Starting with some of the bigger news about the Red Man Winter, the club has signed a one-year contract with Fanduel Sports Network, aka Rebranded Bally Sports Network, to get some slight stability in broadcasting. The Reds’ radio was previously delivered by Bally and parent company Diamond Sports Group, but Cincinnati is one of many teams, whose future of television was questioned when DSG broke into bankruptcy proceedings in March 2023. DSG and Bally reappear in major street sports sports and Fanduel Sports Network and Fanduel Sports Network Network Network banners and MLB Chooses consers consects and Chortners conshort-nort Sunterts norts norts and-Notenters short-noptners short-noptners norpers norps norps their seniors.
The Reds have reached a deal with Major League Baseball itself to handle the 2025 season’s broadcast, but when choosing to reintegrate with Main Street Sports, the Reds may offer some flexibility for future deals if everything goes well this year. It is also fair to assume that even if the new contract (or the terms of the MLB broadcast agreement) are not public, the new red deal is at least much more than the new deals obtained from Major League Baseball.
It’s the bottom line related to the club’s live efforts – as Nick Krall’s president of baseball operations in January said, the Reds have more cash to invest in their salary. Given the timing, it may be that the Reds may not be able to trade Taylor Rogers or sign Austin Hays without that extra money coming into the team’s revenue stream.
The COO/CFO Doug Healy team said in November that Reds’ salaries either remain stable or rise after broadcast deals with MLB, even as broadcast partners change. Last season, the Reds were about 100mm (by lineup), and the club now has about $115.3mm for 115.3mm, as we approach the Open Day.
