Nicole Eggert has made a surprising revelation about her days starring in the iconic TV series Baywatch.
For more than a decade, fans around the world have tuned in to watch the show’s team of red swimsuit-clad lifeguards run in slow motion on California’s sun-drenched beaches. Eggert, 52, told Fox News Digital that while the weather on Baywatch looked beautiful, in reality, she and her co-stars often endured frigid temperatures during filming.
When asked about her most memorable moment on “Baywatch,” she laughed and said, “On a cold day, the bad always outweighs the good.”

Eggert continued, “So, being on the beach is like the most amazing job in the world. But the cold days, the freezing days, the rainy days, you have to be in the ocean – you’re going, “I What is the purpose of registration?

“You know, fighting hypothermia. Like trying to find a dry towel anywhere,” she added. “It was a really tough time.”
The actress, who is currently battling cancer, played lifeguard Summer Quinn on two seasons of “Baywatch” from 1992 to 1994. Including David Hasselhoff, Pamela Anderson, Michael Newman, Alexandra Paul, Jeremy Jackson, Gregory Alan Williams, David Jockach, Parker Stevenson , Gina Lee Nolan, Billy Warlock, Erica Elenik, David Charvitt and Yasmine Bryce, among others.

Baywatch was filmed primarily at Will Rogers State Beach in Santa Monica, but some scenes were shot in Long Beach and Malibu. In season 10, the show was renamed “Baywatch: Hawaii” and production moved to the Hawaiian Islands from 1999 to 2001.

Baywatch premiered in 1989, but was canceled by NBC after one season due to low ratings and high production costs. However, Baywatch found new life through syndication and went on to become a ratings juggernaut and cultural phenomenon.
According to Forbes, the show was the most watched show in the world at its peak, attracting 1.1 billion viewers each week.
The success of “Baywatch” spawned the spin-off series “Baywatch” and three direct-to-video movies, including “Baywatch: Forbidden Paradise,” “Baywatch: White Thunder in Glacier Bay” and “Baywatch.” Baywatch: White Thunder in Glacier Bay” Hawaiian wedding.
In 2017, “Baywatch” was adapted into a feature film of the same name, starring “The Rock” Dwayne Johnson, Zac Efron and Alexandra Daddario, with Hasselhoff and Anderson continuing to play original character. The film was a box office hit, grossing $177.9 million worldwide.

Last March, Fox Entertainment and Baywatch production company Freemantle announced a TV reboot of the series, with Laura Olsen serving as writer and producer.
In an interview with the Los Angeles Daily News, Eggert explained why she decided to quit “Baywatch” after its fourth season.
“I needed to grow and work on myself,” she said. “At the time, I just needed a break for my own happiness.”

“I think the word ‘celebrity’ is used more loosely now,” she said. “I should say, there’s a lot more to it than that.”
“There’s something funny about celebrities because the ’90s are so nostalgic now,” Eggert continued. “So, it’s actually fun because people are excited to think about actors and actresses from the ’90s and who they watched.”
“So, it’s a fun time now because the ’90s were cool, so that’s good for me,” she added with a laugh.

Eggert recently produced the Hulu documentary “Baywatch: Our Time in the Sun,” which explores how the show became an international sensation and the ups and downs the cast faced after suddenly becoming famous. According to Hulu, the documentary series features never-before-seen home videos and interviews with more than 35 actors and creators.
While working on Baywatch: It’s Always Sunny, Eggert faced a major health crisis in December 2023 after she was diagnosed with stage 2 cribriform breast cancer.
Eggert told People in August that filming the docuseries and raising her 12-year-old daughter Keegan inspired her to battle cancer.
“Having a young daughter and this project is a big motivator for me to not just sit back and think about my health and happiness,” Eggert, 25, told the outlet.
“It gives me purpose,” she added. “It keeps me motivated every day. I think life takes its time for a reason. It’s a good distraction, and my girls keep me on my toes.”
After receiving the diagnosis, Eggert underwent a mastectomy. The actress completed chemotherapy earlier this year and recently began radiation treatments.

In an interview with Fox News Digital, Eggert said her “Baywatch” co-stars have been supportive during her health issues. She noted that she was “in the middle of filming Baywatch: Our Time in the Sun” while undergoing treatment, and many of her cast members were featured in the documentary.
“So, I have a very close relationship with most of the actors,” she said. “Pretty much the whole cast. And, yeah, a lot of them have been very supportive and reached out. Alexandra Paul, Brand Roderick, Gena Lee, Erica Elenik… David ·Jocach, these people really care about me and make sure I’m okay, which is lovely.

The actress also reflected on the advice she would give to her younger self.
“I would tell my younger self not to be so afraid of life — to really get out there and enjoy things more,” she said. “You have nothing to lose. Just go live, you know?”
She continued, “For so many years I was afraid, hiding things, covering things up, pretending everything was fine. And you don’t have to do that. You don’t have to do that.”

“It feels good to face the darkness, bring it into the light, and enjoy yourself. It’s not that serious,” she added.
