Scottsdale, Arizona – Matt Kuchar quit the Phoenix Open on Wednesday and said in a statement that his father died unexpectedly.
Peter Kuchar has been consistent in the golf tournament, and his son continued the ball when Matt won the 1997 American Amateurs’ match at Cog Hill, and he played in the Masters Excellent, he performed well in our game the following year.
Kuchar said his father died Tuesday. His parents grew up in central Florida and lived in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida for the past few years. Peter Kuchar once ranked highly in doubles tennis in state games.
“My pop music is a big fan of sports and passed on to my competition,” Kuchar said in a statement on the golf channel.
“He was the one who introduced me to golf, and it was a draw that would always exist between us,” Kuchar said. “Those memories, and more memories will always be with me and our family. He will Missed speech goes beyond words.”
Kuchar played with his father in 2018 at the PNC Championship, and Peter Kuchar made another appearance in December while playing with his son.
Kuchar’s nine PGA Tour wins include Player Championship, Memorial Hall, World Golf Championship and FedEx Cup playoffs.
