Marlin claims right-handed Seth Martinez As the sailor announced, on Seattle exempt wires. Not sure Martinez was designated as a mission, and Martinez joined another exemption claim in Miami just less than two weeks ago. Marlin continues to announce that left-handed Andrew Nardi Placed on the 60-day injury list, making room for Martinez to return to the 40-man lineup.
Martinez, 30, was drafted by track and field in the 17th round of the 2016 draft, but he spent his entire Major League Baseball career in the Astros uniform. The right-hander made his first major league debut in 2021 with a unfortunate coffee, surrendered five times in his three-innings job, but has since provided solid middle relief efforts for Astros. Martinez’s 2022 season was particularly impressive as he dominated the 2.09 ERA with a 24.5% strikeout rate in 38 2/3 innings with a 9.0% walk rate.
