Marlies’ Hilderby named AHL Player of the WeekTheAHL.com

Springfield, Massachusetts …National Hockey League announces Toronto Marlies goaltender today Dennis Hilderby has been selected as Howies Hockey Video/AHL Player of the Week For the period ending December 29, 2024.
Hilderby made two starts for the Marlies last week, stopping 66 of 69 shots, posting a 1.50 goals-against average and a .957 save percentage.
Hieldby made 31 saves in Toronto’s 3-0 win over Belleville in a Boxing Day matinee at Scotiabank Arena on Thursday, his first shutout of the season. He had 35 shutouts in the Marlies’ 4-3 road win over the Senators on Saturday, helping Toronto enter the new year with the AHL’s best record at 17-5-2-3.
Hilderby was recalled today by the Toronto Maple Leafs where he has made eight appearances for the Marlies this season with a 4-2-2 record, a 2.42 GAA and a .916 save percentage. On October 10, he made his NHL debut on behalf of the Maple Leafs and achieved a record of 2 wins, 1 draw and 0 losses in three games with his parent team. Hilderby, a 23-year-old native of Jalfala, Sweden, has compiled a 25-14-9 record, 2.50 GAA, .911 save percentage and five shutouts in 51 career AHL games and was an AHL All-Pro. Star 2023-24 Marlies rookie. The Maple Leafs selected Hieldby in the fourth round of the 2022 NHL Draft.
