Lydia KO Card 68 takes third round lead in LPGA Singapore

Singapore – Lydia Ko hit 68 on Saturday, falling from one stroke to the front in three rounds of the HSBC Women’s World Championships.

The 27-year-old Korean-born New Zealander totaled 206 strokes and 54 holes in Tanjong course at Sentosa Golf Club.

Charley Hull was left behind for the second time after she was 68 by two of her first four holes. JeenoThitikul has the best round of the day, 66, and is in third place, falling behind KO three points.

Lim Kim, who led the lead after the first two rounds, moved in the wrong direction with 73 and ranked fourth, with four leads. Defending champion Hannah Green has 67 places, lifting 16 positions to the rankings, trailing KO 5.

Ko had 3 bogeys, including 7 birdies, four of which were in the back nine of hers.

“I made some mistakes, but I was able to bounce back with some good birds too.

KO is chasing her 23rd LPGA title and hopes to finally make a breakthrough in Singapore in 11 games. Her best result in the competition was second in 2015.

Hull is seeking to win her third LPGA Championship.

“My mindset won’t be any different from the literal meaning of the past three days,” Hull said. “Just go there, play golf, play some putts and have fun.”

The Singapore Championship is the second of three games of the first Asian swing this year for LPGA. The final match will be held next week on Hainan Island, China.
