Lakers face the Bucks without Don Enchi due to ankle injury

Los Angeles Lakers star point guard Luka Dončić will play against the Milwaukee Bucks due to a sprained right ankle. This marks the second back-to-back night in Los Angeles, after they beat the Denver Nuggets 120-108. Despite the injury the night before, Dončić scored an impressive 31 points, eight rebounds and seven assists in 32 minutes. However, the team is prioritizing his long-term health, especially with the playoffs coming.
The game against the Bucks is the last of the Lakers’ tough six games in eight days, thanks to a makeup game against the San Antonio Spurs game postponed by the Los Angeles wildfires. So far, Los Angeles has achieved a 3-2 record in the first five games of the game. Dončić also missed a match due to a sprained ankle and additional damage management on his left leg.
The Lakers will also not have LeBron James (groin strain) and Rui Hachimura (knee tendinopathy) in the game, making it a tough battle with the full-load of Bucks. With the elimination of the two major stars, players like Austin Reaves, Dorian Finney-Smith and Gabe Vincent will need a big improvement to fill the gap. In the past, the Lakers showed resilience in absence, but this would be another challenging test for the team.
Without Don Enchi, who has been a key figure since joining the Lakers, the team will need to dig deeper to continue the playoffs. Five all-NBA first-team selections are hope for the Los Angeles champion, especially in a tough Western Conference, filled with advantageous teams like the Oklahoma City Thunder and dominant champion Denver Nuggets. Dončić and James’ absence put the team in trouble, but they hope that the support cast can rise.
Looking ahead, Don Enchi is expected to return to the Lakers’ next game against the Chicago Bulls. Meanwhile, the team will focus on staying healthy and moving chemistry ahead of the playoffs. As Jarred Vanderbilt stressed, in the coming weeks, Los Angeles’ main goal is just to be healthy and keep resting in the demanding circumstances of the season.
