Jordan Spieth is thinking about not thinking.
This idea might be lacking when he wanted to return from his left surgery a week ago.
“Ideally, I just don’t think about it,” Spieth said.
The plan lasted about nine holes.
Spieth spiethed in the first round of the WM Phoenix Open on Thursday. He shines and looks a lot like he was a three-time major champion, under one third of TPC Scottsdale. I also breathed a sigh of relief. He said in his first round of AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am last week that he “blocked” his wrist with a bunker shot and then “locked” him on him.
“My wrist was injured in the first round,” he said.
From there, something made some spin some, Spieth’s game ended with two rounds of 70, 72, 79 and five below 67. The ve becomes very slim, the left hand participates in it, and if it is not tilted, it will be very far away. ”
Should you worry? The wrist is an integral part of the swing, and he said he got rid of the work he did “just to manipulate what I can do” but returned to his process on WM again on Sunday and Thursday. He said he was inspired.
“It paid off there,” Spieth said of his efforts on Sunday. “I then spent a few days here and thought I was doing better than scoring.”
Thursday was unclean – he missed eight of 14 fairways – but he booed only once, and his brushstrokes were solid: approach, an indicator of his struggle last year. In 2024, Spieth ranked 137th in the PGA Tour in the category. On Thursday, he was in the top 20 in the field.
“In the case, a round in a few cases here – the pins were really stuffed today, so it’s a little harder here than the normal first round in the morning and it feels like I’ve left something really nice, “Spis said. “It makes me feel like I’m close to where I want to be.”

He said he also gave himself some grace, although it was difficult to do it.
Spieth underwent surgery last August. He said he spoke with others who had gone through similar procedures. He felt that he was not in a hurry. He said he was hopeful this year, but it was also realistic.
“I think the short term is – the shortest term is feeling like I’ve been through these three weeks and I feel better or better than I did physically at the beginning,” Spis said last week. “It’s a non-inspiring thing.” The goal of excitement is a great significance. Then, I would love to fight in front of the master at least once. Then, maybe this year is a lofty goal, to form the Ryder Cup team. …
“A lot of it is a decade outlook. I think if I try to get – try to make this year come back from this a “must perform well” because even though it’s been a while, I haven’t really played it yet Know, golf. Obviously, competitive, even in the game – I haven’t played many rounds since mid-August.
“So, I think stepping on the first t-shirt from a long-term perspective, shooting through the shot, but let’s settle down and get us completely healthy and take some shots from these hangings – just playing the game is very different Hit a lot of balls from the mat. So trying to adapt to this is shorter, to a long-term, my mind view, maybe I have a 10-year schedule, hoping for a similar schedule, and for some Victory sets some goals, some compete in professional and other aspects so.”
Spieth also said Thursday.
“My expectations are low,” he said. “I hope I can get good volatility, but in terms of results, it’s hard to think I should expect a lot in six months.
“With that being said, I know where I am today, and I know I can do better than today. If I could try posting some scores on or better than today, then you would never know- I started to reintegrate and it became very interesting and hopefully more consistent.”
