Jon Rahm’s new year may have started with a disappointing loss in Dubai this week, but it was the first of two new pieces of equipment for the two-time Grand Slam champion.
Since the summer of 2021, Rahm has been using Odyssey’s Rossie S putter shape almost exclusively. But in early 2025, he’s trying something different.
The tournament began with the Memorial Tournament, where Rahm led by six shots after 54 holes but was told he had tested positive for COVID-19 and had to withdraw. It was also his first time playing with a unique Odyssey White Hot OG Rossie S putter with a White Hot Microhinge insert.

Two weeks later, he won his first major championship with a putter at the U.S. Open and then went on to win the 2023 Masters. It remained a staple in his bag until late 2023 when he switched to the newer Odyssey Ai-ONE version of Rossie, which he played throughout 2024.
But this week in Dubai, where Rahm made his debut at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic, he changed everything with a new putter shape: the Odyssey Ai-ONE #24 slant putter.

According to Oydessy, the Ai-ONE #24 is a new shape introduced to the Odyssey line late last year, with a mallet design inspired by classic cars.
The shape of the #24 is more square than Rahm’s previous Rossie, with a large rectangular channel in the middle. On the retail version, the channel is painted with a large white alignment aid, but Ram’s version has the same blue as the rest of the head.
One thing in common between the #24 S and Rahm’s Rossie S is the sloping neck design, which Rahm has been attracted to since his days at TaylorMade, when he used a Spider with a sloping neck.
Callaway Tour Manager Joe Toulon told GOLF.com that the unique shape of the No. 24 club helps Rahm’s alignment.

“Jon has been testing No. 24 since last fall,” Toulon said. “He really responded to the lines, which in subtle ways helped him be a little bit better than his Rossie S counterpart.
“He’s not a big fan of alignment aids, but the squarer shape of the No. 24 compared to the Rossie S from an aiming and optics perspective gave him enough help to give him a clean starting line. Quite a few.
