Jason Day quits player championship from illness

Ponte Vedera Beach, Florida – Jason Day pulled back about an hour from the Players Championship game, and then he should have kicked off Thursday due to illness.

Ranked 33rd in the world a day, playing a week of competition at Arnold Palmer’s invitational until the final round of double bogey on the 16th hole ended his hopes.

He won the player when he became the world’s number one player in 2016. The PGA Tour did not immediately disclose the nature of its disease.

Day was replaced by Danny Walker, who provided the game with 26 players playing for the first time at TPC Sawgrass.
