California India Wells Stefanos Tsitsipas Not doing well, no way to get him to make progress on the driving field for the competition. He had to do something about it – so he did.

After last month’s championship in Dubai – his first on his hard drive since 2023 – he posted a quote on social media: “They said my game is sinking, so I dragged myself a boat.”

He spoke about his struggle with journalists at the opening of the main news room of BNP Paribas, when asked to elaborate on Sunday.

“The last few months have not been surprising to me,” he told reporters after taking out 6-3, 6-3 Matteo Berrettini Sunday in Wells, India. “I didn’t have any big results or wins, so to say I was heading in the direction of the game. So, I feel the title is a summary of the past few months.”

Tsitsipas always posts humorous quotes on its X account very quickly, so some of the things he says can be taken with a grain of salt, but that’s true for Greek. He was dissatisfied with the game and after quitting the top ten, he struggled to find his position.

“I just have humor like this. No harm,” he said.

It’s no secret that Tsitsipas has recently started using new rackets. Without a name – the frame he touted is still a dark one – he pointed out the reasons for the change without actually mentioning the change in the press conference.

“I’m trying to find ways to improve,” he said. “I feel like some of the opponents I’m going to play as playing bigger tennis, and I’m going to beat me and do better than I do. I’ve been known to be able to play big tennis throughout my career, but that’s not big enough, and I feel like I have to do something about it.”

His new racket is reportedly available with a 16-inch x 20-inch string pattern, which gives him both the potential to rotate and more power. Some journalists say the terrain of Tsitsipas is nearly 5 miles per hour than the ground before the transition.

On Sunday, TSITSIPAS was confident from beginning to end. He dropped just 8 points on the serving field and cleared most points with someone outside of the point. Apparently, he is a more confident player than a month ago, before the new racket and new strings.

“It feels like I can’t get out in court and really do that in practice at the level of level,” Tsitsipas said. “I’m playing the driving range and I’m doing really well. I’ve won a lot of practice occasions with good opponents. It’s just that it doesn’t click when playing, and I have to wait longer.”

“As I added some changes to the game, I felt it added a lot of confidence and went into the tennis court.”
