CHP officers killed people in Riverside County, allegedly throwing stones in cars

California Highway Patrol officials shot and killed a man in San Jacinto on Monday, who allegedly threw rocks into a moving car, the agency said in a statement.
The statement said at about 4:48 p.m. Monday, satellite health members reported that “male subjects threw rocks at an upcoming vehicle” near Gilman Springs Road east of Interstate 79.
The suspect then threw rocks at the officers, who tried to subdue him using “verbal orders and non-determined choice of force,” CHP said. According to the Centre for Health Protection, the suspect continued to step towards the officer and then shot him.
CHP spokesman Jonathan Torres said officers have the option to use Tasers or Bean Bags before shooting. He said no weapons were found at the scene.
According to the Center for Health Protection, officials provided medical assistance to the suspects until emergency personnel could take over. The California fire was later announced on the scene by the man.
The statement said the officer was not injured and the shooting was under investigation by the Riverside County troops.
CHP encourages those with information to contact Torres by calling (951) 846-5300 or (916) 407-7511.
