In Shriver’s absence, Coach Sasha BarkinShe’s on Vekic’s side, having worked with Naomi Osaka, Dayana Yastremska and Alycia Parks. Veteran Vekic said Bajin brought a lot of positive energy.
“Very strong. Very strong,” Wech said of Barjin. “There was a lot of energy. We had a really good pre-season. We worked hard, so I was a little bit frustrated losing the first three games of the season. I was like, no, come on, we worked hard. “I practiced well.
“But for me, even if we lost today, it wouldn’t change much. I think he’s a great coach with a lot of experience and hopefully we can achieve some good results together.”
