One of the biggest competitions in the women’s college basketball game was the first round that took place tonight, as the 6th-place USC Trojans hosted the UCLA Bruis at the Galen Center.

UCLA sat undefeated at 23-0, having the best season in this 51-year-old program. Led by a dominant center Lauren Betts and defender Kiki Rice, the team has been rolling in hopes of a 24th straight win. Betts was with the Bruins the second year after transferring from Stanford and got a great season with a 9.7 board with an average of less than 20 points. At 6’7, she is also the power of paint. The rice in the backcourt averages 12 and 3, but there is one on the court that you won’t miss.
After handing over their first loss to Notre Dame in November, the Trojans hoped to be in the second time after losing an Iowa state in the state for the second time They have the upper hand on their home court. Slam Cover star Juju Watkins had a sensational season with forward Kiki Iriafen.
