John Daley undergoes hand surgery, expected to recover ‘soon’

John Daley said on Tuesday he was recovering from “emergency hand surgery.”
The two-time major champion shared the news on Instagram, saying the surgery in Tampa, Fla., went “great” while thanking his doctors for “getting me well.” The post also included a photo of Daley lying in a hospital bed with his left hand heavily wrapped.
Daly, 58, did not reveal the reason for the surgery but said it would not keep him out long-term.
“Being back playing basketball soon,” he wrote.
Daly has always been a fan favorite, making 15 cuts in 16 starts in the 2024 PGA Tour Championship. .

In 1991, Daly came on as the ninth substitute to win the 1991 PGA Championship at Crooked Stick, wowing fans with his big drives and “grab and rip” style. He also won the 1995 St. Andrews Open Championship.
