Devin Booker gets honest about Suns’ woes

Even though the Suns have the highest payroll in the league and Devin Booker has talked about the team’s troubles, they’re not in good shape.

Perhaps most concerning is that Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal have only played 197 minutes together this season due to various injuries, and in those minutes, they have a net rating of -4.3.

“The frustration is high,” Booker said, via Gerald Bourguet of PHNX Sports. “We are all competitors here and we realize these games are going to cost us at the end of the season. … We want to make some progress, get out of the play-in spots and win every game possible.

Suns leader Durant has been plagued by injuries recently, and the team without him this season has a record of only 1 win and 9 losses.

After Phoenix’s recent loss to Memphis, Durant admitted he needs to get better.

“I feel like I can do a lot of things, I just feel like I have to get better,” Durant said. “I feel like every player in the locker room has the same mentality. So we all look in the mirror and we’re going to be a better team.

Head coach Mike Budenholzer knows the team is capable of more and is trying to stay positive even though the Suns are 15-17 on the season.

“We have high-level players who have high expectations and high standards,” Budenholzer said. “…We have to find ways to get better, so these are not easy times. But our people will find a solution, and we will find a solution together.
