John Daly recovers from surgery somewhat cruelly

Legendary golf personality John Daly shared the latest news about his health via social media, and was evacuated for about two months due to a hand injury.

Now, Daly seems to be preparing to compete at the HOAG Classics of the Championship Tour at Newport Beach Country Club, California.

“It’s nice to come back. It’s a little cruel, but about 80% hands,” he said in a video post. “So I think I’ll be here. I love playing in Hoag Classic. Every year, these guys are so nice. So we’ll see what happens.”

Daly, 58, also revealed that he had undergone 16 surgeries in the past four years due to tangled tendons.

“(The Doctor) didn’t understand how I was doing last year,” Daly said. “But he put it back and attached it to his index finger or something. I almost lost a lot of the sixteen surgeries over the past four years.”

Daly won the PGA Tour five times, winning the 1991 PGA Championship and the 1995 Open Championship.
