Collin Morikawa, two others withdraw from Farmers Insurance Open

World No. 4 Collin Morikawa is one of three golfers to withdraw from Sunday’s upcoming Farmers Insurance Open.

Morikawa joined Denmark’s Nicolai Højgaard and Tyler McCumber in withdrawing from the 156-golfer field at San Diego’s famed Torrey Pines course. Their replacements will be Wesley Bryan, Hayden Springer and South Korean player SH Kim.

No official reason for the resignation was announced.

The news comes a day after world number two Xander Schauffele confirmed he had withdrawn from the event due to “health issues”.

Morikawa finished second at Sentinel in his only start of the year.

The Farmers Insurance Open will be played Wednesday through Saturday to avoid a final round matchup with next Sunday’s NFL division championship game.
