Cam Smith Backs calls for splitting the Australian Open

Adelaide, Australia – Former Open Champion Cam Smith is celebrating criticisms at the same time in the men’s and women’s Australian Opens, so he’s happy to hear that Golf Australia has decided to hold them alone again.
“Not only do we want to come down and obviously support our events, but I think that makes it a stronger field for myself to come here to attend the Australian Open and make it the event that Smith was on Thursday in Ah Draide’s Grange said the only Australian stop for Leaf Golf will begin on Friday.
Earlier this week, Golf Australia CEO James Sutherland announced that “both open champions will stand on their own” and “prosper itself”.
“After our annual event review, including discussions with key stakeholders, Australia Golf decided to separate the Australian Open men’s and women’s championships,” Sutherland said. “We are proud of what we have achieved in the past three years. ”
Smith, the 2022 Open champion, led criticism of the mixed form over the past three years, saying he hopes the match will be held in Melbourne again. Future dates for the men’s or women’s Open have not been announced yet.
Smith’s Ripper GC teammate and fellow Australian Lucas Herbert also endorsed the change. Last year’s United Championship was held in late November at Kingston Heath and Victoria Clubs in Melbourne’s famous sandbelt region.
“We would love to see a performance in an Australian public venue different from what it is, and I think we were kind of handcuffed, as well, rather than having women play with us,” Herbert said. “For them, the ideal course is Setting up and setting up our ideal course is a little different.
“I don’t think you should set up the course the same way because both genders are not fair. ……………… We are splitting the Australians open right now and it’s a good idea to be a The move.”
