Brewers Acquire Grant Anderson – MLB Trade Rumors

Rangers announce they have traded reliever Grant Anderson Head to the Brewers to find a minor league pitcher Mason Molina. Milwaukee designated left-hander Tyler Jay According to Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, he was assigned to open a 40-man roster.
Texas finalized Anderson’s assignment earlier this week Jock Pederson trade. The low-handed right-hander made 49 plate appearances for the Rangers as a baseman and pinch-hitter. He didn’t perform well in the majors, allowing 6.35 earned runs per nine in 62 1/3 innings. Anderson’s strikeout rate (21.5%) and walk rate (8.8%) are not far from league average. However, he’s had a serious home run problem during his major league career, giving up 16 long balls (2.31 per nine innings).
For minors, this is not a big deal. Anderson has not allowed a single home run in 27 2/3 Triple-A innings this year. He fanned 28.3% of his minor league opponents and had a sub-3.00 ERA in the Pacific Coast League. Anderson posted a 3.87 earned run average in parts of three seasons at the organization’s top affiliate in Round Rock.
