Billy Horschel hit Valspar’s annual shot.

In the final round of the 2025 Valspar Championship, the day’s shot may be with the leader hitting the court, thanks to left-handed Billy Horschel.
Horschel hit his second shot on the fifth hole of the Copperhead route, a tree roughened to the left of a tree. Horschel had no right stance, so he flipped over and hit the 31-foot rear wedge shot.
Horschel rolled in a 31-foot birdie putt to a speed of 6 under par and covered it inside two shots of Viktor Hovland’s then-leading lead.
So far, Horschel has been working hard to start the season. He only had the top 10 of nine starts in the Valspar Championship.
He did well in the two-round player championship game last week, then filmed 77 games on 77 Saturdays. As he struggled in the third round of the TPC Sawgrass, Horschel made a cruel honest walk to his game state on that breeze Saturday.
Although Horschel is trapped in the PGA Tour season, he has been one of the stars of the TGL inaugural season.
Horschel’s Atlanta Drive will face the New York Golf Club at the TGL Championship on Monday on ESPN.
Maybe when he, Justin Thomas and Patrick Cantlay, hope to lift the couch cup, Horschel pulls out the left-handed wedge.
