Bears sign Dixon Machado to deal with minor leagues

The Bear brings infielder Dixon Machado Back to the minor league contract according to MLB.com’s transaction log. This will be the third job for the Octagon client in the organization. He also played for the Cubs in 2019 and 2022, spending two seasons at the Korean Baseball Organization.
Machado, 32, spent the 2023-24 season in the Astros system, but was not called with Houston. He scored .230/.369/.356 in 2023 sets and hit .228/.335/.305 in 202 minor league board appearances.
Although Machado has been a member of the Cubs twice, he has never played in a major league game.
