After years of public service, the Trump administration fired me

I have worked in the local community for 10 years. I had a huge success when I was preparing to join the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Service. It is an honor to take the oath to serve my country and those in need. February 14, 2025, at 3:08 pm, my career ended when I received an email termination notice. I was not fired. I was fired. My career is over in an instant key stroke.

I spent years helping people in need, especially housing. We have a housing crisis. We have more homeless people on the street than ever before. HUD is crucial to dealing with this crisis. Reducing HUD workers means less service to those in need. Families with children will eventually be homeless.

When I swore to be a federal employee, I would accept my job no matter who was in the office. Such rampant federal institutions will take decades to replace, which will come at the expense of career loss, suspension of services and loss of life. The public needs to understand that very talented and dedicated people have no choice. We can’t find another job overnight. We are not lazy. We are unwavering in supporting our great nation, but our nation decides to get our support. These cuts are foul, mismanagement and disastrous. The results will be displayed soon.
