Angel Yin enters the third round lead at LPGA Thailand

Pattaya, Thailand – Angel Yin three of three of the last four holes in the first nine holes to help set up a five-stroke with a score below 64 on Saturday Leading the lead, entering the final round of the LPGA Thailand Championship.

The Americans received a total of 195 low 21 rounds in the Pattaya old course at Siam Country Club.

The sponsor invited Japan’s Akie Iwai, who led the field after the first two rounds, shot 71 and ranked second. She stumbled upon the match on the ninth hole.

The event is the first stop of what the LPGA calls Asian swing, before the tour moves to Singapore and China in the next two weeks.

The 26-year-old Yin’s best result in four matches in LPGA Thailand is third in 2021.

“On the tee, I didn’t hit it like I did in the past two days, but I got rid of some good lies and managed to take advantage of my chances,” Yin said.

The Californian chased her second LPGA title after winning Buick LPGA Shanghai in 2023. She was the two-time runner-up – at the 2023 Chevron Championship and the 2019 U.S. Women’s Open.

Local stars Moriya Jutanugarn and Jeeno Thitikul sat down in 201, 201, and had a stroke behind Iwai. Both sides hope to improve their best local results – Jutanugarn tied for second in 2018, while Thitikul was the only runner-up in 2021.
