Carlos Alcaraz Maybe he can’t overcome his semifinal loss Jack Draper Until he wins the next championship. The 21-year-old, who bids for three games in Indian Wells on Saturday, beat Draper 6-1, 0-6, 6-4 on Saturday, told reporters he was most disappointed with how he prepared for the game.
The key factor in his failure at the hands of the final 2025 BNP Paribas Open champion? Neuros, and lack of confidence in your own game.
Alcaraz said before leaving Indian Wells: “I always say I have to focus on my game.
“I think this is a big problem [for] Me, I’ve been thinking about his weaknesses [rather] The best thing than me. So when you think about your opponent more than you do, it’s a big problem. ”
Draper is ready to win the big championship
Alcaraz has a lot of praise for Draper, which explains why he proposed an effective strategy on Saturday, which was his effective strategy on Saturday.
“I remember when I played in Australia in January, he had to retire. “He should be in the top ten. He should play in the finals in the 1000 Masters. I’m very happy [for] he.
“I have no doubts about his level. He is ready to stay there for a long time. He is ready to compete in big games, big games. [am not] I was surprised at what I saw today. It wasn’t easy for him, playing in the top 10, in the first Masters 1000 final, and I think he’s doing well. He handles nerves better than me. ”
Alcaraz and Draper are good friends on the tour. Draper had planned to practice with Alcaraz in his family facility for a week, but it was not possible due to injury.
The third-ranked Spaniard said he was not disappointed that he had not been the third player in history to complete the three-game winning streak in India. He was even more frustrated because he couldn’t calm his nerves and turned on the type of clutch tennis he knew could be produced in big games.
“I’m not that frustrated with the discontinuation of the third game,” he said. “I’m frustrated with the way I approach the game and the way I feel unable to calm down all day.
“for me, [is the] I feel the most disappointing thing right now because it’s probably the worst set of my entire career, and it’s the first set. ”
“I’ll make the most of it in Miami”
Loss and Soul Search – probably the spark that pushed him to the top of Miami. That is the beauty of tennis. There will always be next week.
“so that [shows] Before the game, I was so nervous all day. For me, it’s really disappointing. Because I think I am a person who learns from losses. I lost to the semifinals the last time, after all, I won Miami so I thought I would go. I’m going to learn from that game and I’m going to make the most of myself in Miami. ”
