Joaquin Niemann, Dustin Johnson leads Singapore golf

Joaquín Niemann led the second round lead at Liv Golf Singapore on Saturday and led Dustin Johnson with a 64 shot.
First round leader Johnson recorded 68 rounds, following his 63 games. He sat down with Niemann for the match with 131 11, before Lucas Herbert (66) (66), Jason Kokrak (66), Cameron Tringale (67) and Sebastián Muñoz (68) (68) at the Sern Sernsosa clibl sern sern sern sern sern sern sern sern sern sern seed.
Johnson’s 4aces GC also improved to 20, leading five shots with Phil Mickelson’s Hyflyers GC in team games. Sergio Garcia’s Fireballs GC has a third straight team title, back to eight strokes.
Chile’s Niemann mixed eight birdies and bogeys in the second round. He and Johnson will be in the Leaders’ Group for the first time in the final round since 2022, with Johnson playing an Eagle putt on the playoff hole, a game that Johnson won.
Niemann and Johnson both scored three games and won multiple teams. Neiman won a victory this season, winning the championship at Liv Adelaide.
“It’s always fun to play with DJs,” Neman said. “I’m excited for tomorrow.”
The same goes for Johnson.
“Obviously, I’m in a good position to win, but need to go out and… play well,” Johnson said. “Obviously, the leaders have a lot of really good players, so there’s no safety.”
Kokrak will continue to win a winning streak for Smash GC members in his third game of 134. Teammates Talor Gooch (2023) and Captain Brooks Koepka (2024) have won Singapore in the past two seasons.
“It resonates well with two teammates who have already won here,” Coclark said. “I know the golf course very well. I know what to do. It just goes there and actually does it.”
On the team side, Mickelson’s hyflyers have not won the championship yet. They finished third in Hong Kong last week, with Mickelson taking third place in the player rankings, becoming his first liv podium.
Tringale, another player in the individual championship, said he hopes to win for the hyflyers, which also put Andy Ogletree and Brendan Steele on the team.
“We all hope it’s so bad,” Trillinger said. “We want to prove to people that we are a legitimate team. There’s no reason we can’t. We’re all excited about the opportunity.”
These 4ases have won seven victories, but have not won since 2023, a drought that spans 22 events.
“Last year might have been a bit frustrating, and then obviously it’s still early this year, but it seems like we’re doing well in four games right now,” Johnson said of his team. “It’s the key to winning here, you have to have four players playing well. If you can do that, then you have a chance to win.”
But he didn’t take anything for granted.
“The game here is really great,” Johnson said. “The quality of players from top to bottom is very high. It’s really hard to win the team.”
