PGA Tour veteran Michael Kim is a popular follower on X and he started the 2025 season with a great start. The positive atmosphere kept rolling on Saturday at the Arnold Palmer Invitational – despite assisting with tournament volunteers.
King has been rolling over the past few weeks. He won the T2 (and $818,800) at the WM Phoenix Open in early February. He has since gone the T13-T13-T6, which has been a fixture near the top of the rankings.
This week is no different. Kim was under five in three rounds of Bay Hill, tied for fifth. But the 31-year-old American would be in a worse position if it weren’t for the third round. To make this leak, he relied on the inspiration of volunteers.
King hit a par 12 hole with five shots on Saturday, and King hit a fairway bunker. He tried to split the green into two points, but ended up in another bunker in front of the green. From there he had a long and difficult sand that he wanted to be close enough to keep himself watching the birds.
That was when a volunteer stopped in the cave and talked to Kim Jong Il.
“I was actually chatting with a volunteer, waiting for Bob [MacIntyre] Hit him in the third inning, he said, “You do nothing.” “In my opinion, I was thinking, 10 feet is great.”
But it turns out that talkative volunteers are doing something. Instead of knocking it down, Kim cuts a giant eagle from the bunker.
The volunteer realized that the volunteer had named the camera perfectly, and Kim decided to reward him with a special gift once he pulled the ball from the bottom of the cup.
“I gave him the ball,” King said.
The pros will add another late Eagle to Game 16, scoring an excellent round of 67 points. This put him into Collin Morikawa’s five shots and into the final round on Sunday.
Bay Mountain is “crazy”, “dead” green
Kim’s performance is even more impressive considering the dangerous situation at Bay Hill on Saturday. With the wind how to call, players face grilled vegetables, gold called “crazy”, and many stars fell on the rankings. But not gold.
These vegetables are crazy. They are crusty. I don’t know, I think 10 greens are probably dead, just that fertilizer is the only thing that makes it alive, but hardly anything. ” “Bob [MacIntyre] I hit it and it felt like we hit a nice putt and they walked eight feet. So it’s just the greens and it’s hard to be aggressive with them just because you know you’re going to have six feet, seven feet back. So you have to play very conservative putters, which are sometimes difficult to make. ”
