Rickie Fowler loves the Arnold Palmer Invitational. The 36-year-old American has a special relationship with the late host of the game and loves to return to Bay Hill Club and go back every March.
But this year will be another story. With the 2024 season awful, Fowler needs a sponsor invitation to participate in next week’s API. He and Jordan Spieth were both eliminated for the signature event, so no invitation appeared.
Fowler knew that if he “played better,” that wouldn’t be a problem. However, the only way he can compete next week is to win this week at the 2025 Palm Beach Classic.
Fowler won the game in 2017 and, despite not having the best, will charge on Saturday’s board and will receive the final round of 54-hole leader Jake Knapp in the final round of Sunday’s game.
If Fowler wins, he will receive $1.65 million in payday. But more importantly, he will get a ticket to Beshill.
Fowler isn’t the only big story that happened at PGA National.
Star amateur Luke Clanton won his PGA Tour card Friday after layoffs and will try to underestimate Sunday’s PGA Tour title. Cranton will start on Knapp’s six shots.
This is the spending of Palm Beach’s 2025 Cognitive Classic. The total wallet is $9.2 million.
