President Trump says “good opportunity” for PGA Tour-LIV resolution

WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump said on Saturday that there is a “very likely” to resolve the split between the PGA Tour and Saudi-backed Liv Golf after discussing the dispute with the parties.
At a White House dinner visiting the governor, Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis asked if Trump could make a breakthrough.
“I think it’s very likely we will do that,” Trump said. “I think it’s very likely.”
The PGA tour said Thursday it had a “constructive work” at the White House, and Trump and Liv golf president Yasir Al-Rumayyan are working to resolve the split that exists between two professional golf institutions. Tiger Woods, Adam Scott and PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan also attended the meeting.
Liv Golf has attracted some of the world’s top golfers after it was founded in 2021. The LIV and PGA Tour players compete with each other in only four majors in golf and are working to unify the professionals.
