Palm Beach Gardens, Florida – Tiger Woods has 199 yards in the hole. His Jupiter Link teammates realized it was too late and had a horrible mistake in the TGL indoor game Tuesday night.
Woods asks to confirm the yardage and hear 99; when obvious, the caddie usually loses the first number. But this is obviously not obvious to Woods.
He hit the wedge, which was a very good shot and passed 100 yards.
“I heard 99 yards, so I went there and played,” the 15-time major champion said after his 13th hole against New York Golf Club Cameron Young.
“One of the most embarrassing moments of my golf career just happened,” Woods said on ESPN TV. “I just screwed it up. It’s embarrassing.”
His Jupiter link teammates Kevin Kisner and Tom Kim laughed.
New York has never fallen behind with a 10-3 victory.
