Padres agrees to minor league deal

Priest and Gavin bed sheets According to Robert Murray of Fans, a minor league contract has been reached. The deal includes an invitation to participate in the Major League spring training. Earlier in the offseason, the sheets weren’t excited by the White Sox.
The second round of the draft was the 2017 draft pick, and the sheets entered the Grand Slam in 2021. His Bats remained hot all year round, and he made his debut season with 11 home runs, .830 OPS and 123 WRC+ in 54. game. Unfortunately, the big lefty batsman has been working hard to make an impact on the plate ever since. Starting from 2022-24, with more than 381 games, the sheets produced .659 OPS and 84 WRC+ with only 35 home runs and over 1,200. His walking and strikeout rate hovered relatively close to the league average, but he just didn’t affect the ball as much as he needed – and the way he used to look like a promising, capable prospect. Instead, his hard hit rate ranks highest in the league’s bottom every year in 2022-24.
As a corner outfield/first baseman who does not contribute with his legs or gloves, the sheets need to be hit to provide value for his club. So it’s not surprising when the White Sox doesn’t cater to him rather than paying an estimated 2.6mm salary in the first year of arbitration eligibility. Even a poor white sock club, the sheets were disappointing. His -2.2 Fangraphs War has ranked last among the teams at the time in the past three seasons. At the same time, the famous projection system did not see him rebound. Zips, Steamer and Pecota all agree that it is more likely to be a below-average batsman again in 2025.
All of this explains why the sheets cannot be found in his guaranteed contract for the 29-year-old season. Instead, he will head to spring training and hope to impress. And Padres recently solved the weaknesses of corner outfields by adding Jason Heyward and Connor Joe To form a row in the left field, their designated hitters remained open. If the sheets earned a job in the opening day lineup, he and Luis Arraez Can share responsibilities on first base and DH. Given the recent way the board is played, this is a huge “if”. Again, this doesn’t seem like San Diego has a better option at the moment. Padres Jurickson Profar and ha-seong kim Have a budget. Unless further increases, there is no reason they don’t give sheets all the chances to prove themselves at the camp.
