It may be mid-February now, but the upcoming golf season is not far away. Soon, we will all go back outside and chase our little white ball.

But if you want to run on the ground for the 2025 season, you have to make the necessary preparations. It can be cold outside, but that doesn’t mean you can’t prepare for the upcoming season.

Below, some of our top 100 teachers share their best tips for offseason preparation.

1. Dial in a short game

I recommend you use two-thirds of offseason practice dialing in short games. Together with the wedge, find the boot monitor and practice. Understand that each of them has different length fluctuations. Roll some push rods on the mat to make your stroke feel. If there are enough warm days, go out and have fun! – Chuck Evans

2. Drilling fundamentals

There is no better time to train your basics than offseason. Committed to perfecting your drip, posture, ball position and alignment, then rehearsing your swing position in front of the mirror. By the time the season is rolling, you are in better shape than ever. – Andrew Park

3. Find the emulator

It’s hard to practice somewhere during the cold winter, but when the temperature is low, the best option is an indoor simulator. Most people come with a high-tech boot monitor, so you can use this practice time to learn how far each club is. Most importantly, playing ball throughout the winter helps keep your body loose. When spring finally arrives, it will not be so difficult to get rid of rust. – Cheryl Anderson
