Pegula: Swiatek shell evokes belief and frustration
The 2021 Miami Open champion, who plays for Yonex, debuted his new Wilson clubs at the Fed Cup earlier this month, partnering with world No. 2 Iga Swiatek to help Poland reach the final. .
“Wilson is an iconic tennis brand and it’s great to learn more about their selection of high-performance rackets that are used by some of the best players on tour,” Hubert Heka Hubert Hurkacz said. “After extensive testing, I’m excited to use the Blade v9 racquet to improve my game.”
It’s a season of change for former world No. 6 Hulkac, who is working with a new coach Ivan Lendl and Nicolas Massu.
Hurkach switched to a Wilson blade, in part to generate more spin through his straight forehand.
The 27-year-old Hurkacs possesses one of the heaviest serves in the sport and a devastating two-handed backhand. Last season, Hurkacs ranked fourth in ATP serve games (88.71%) behind only Alexander Zverev in serve attempts (736), trailing only Alexander Zverev in that category , Jannik Sinner and Ben Shelton .
If Hulkaz can generate more spin and speed from his forehand with his new Wilson blade, he’s capable of returning to the top ten.
“Wilson is committed to making a positive impact on tennis at all levels. A key part of doing this is working with elite athletes to gain groundbreaking insights that will continue to advance the sport. “We are delighted to welcome Hubie Join Wilson Racing and look forward to supporting his continued success on Tour. “
