Thomas Detry is on the cusp of a final breakthrough. After eight years as a professional, the 32-year-old is on the verge of his first PGA Tour victory. Detry has a five-shot lead in three rounds of WM Phoenix Open. All that remains to be done is to play 18 solid golf balls and the trophy will be his.

It’s easier said than done. Although Detry gained a five-stroke advantage through 54 holes, he will have to postpone many of the talented challengers.

Among the second place are former Ryder Cupper Jordan Spieth, Rasmus Hojgaard and Daniel Berger, while Tour winners Maverick McNealy and Robert MacIntyre also sneaked into the top 10. World No. 1 Scottie Scottie Scheffler also occupies a distance within his final distance. Eight shots as he hopes to continue his historic run.

No matter who wins on Sunday, it’s definitely a show. For professionals who eventually cancel the trophy, $1.656 billion will be in their bank account Monday morning.
