The New York Yankees announced Friday that their players no longer have to be cleaned.
Boss Hal Steinbrenner said in a statement that players will be able to retain their “neat” beards after discussing the matter with current and former players for “a few years”.
The rule says that players cannot have facial hair under their lower lip and was established in 1976 by Hal’s father George Steinbrenner.
