Woman loses hands in shark attack by Turkish and Caicos after photo failure
A Canadian tourist was amputated on both hands while she was on vacation with Turks and Caicos while she was trying to take a photo with the creature while she was attacked by a shark.

Other terrifying bystanders also jumped in to help the woman and tried to stop the bleeding.
Officials said she was taken to a local hospital and later fled the island for further medical services.

According to the website of The The The Turks and Caicos Island, the victim had to amputate his limbs.
Officials said beaches in the area were “very cautious” but later reopened on Sunday.

According to visiting the Turkish and Caicos website, four people were reportedly attacked by sharks between 2021 and 2025, and all victims survived the attacks.
