Netflix (NASDAQ: NFLX ) delivered a largely seamless streaming experience with two live NFL games on Christmas Day, earning high praise from subscribers. Importantly, the company also achieved strong ratings for these two high-profile games.

The early afternoon game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Pittsburgh Steelers had 24.1 million viewers, while the Baltimore Ravens’ win over the Houston Texans had 24.3 million viewers, according to Nielsen Quick National Ratings data.

Ratings peaked during Beyoncé’s halftime show at the Ravens-Texans game, with 27 million viewers.

Notably, Netflix (NFLX) broke streaming viewership records for NFL games and set viewership records among the key 18- to 34-year-old demographic.

All told, 65 million people in the United States watched at least one minute of the game, according to Nielsen.

Netflix (NFLX) is expected to release its own viewership numbers next week. The game’s global rating will also be revealed.

As quantum computing stocks continue to soar in the final month of 2024, Rigetti Computing (NASDAQ: RGTI ) surged 36% at Thursday’s close.

D-Wave Quantum (NYSE: QBTS) rose 24%, while Quantum Computing (NASDAQ: QUBT) rose 12.5%. IonQ (NYSE: IONQ ) rose 8%. Meanwhile, Arqit Quantum (NASDAQ: ARQQ ) surged 50% at the close.

Seeking Alpha analyst Joseph Parrish noted in an analysis that while Rigetti has potential, investors must be patient and wait for these results to materialize.

Rigetti shares are up an incredible 543% this month. D-Wave grew 275% during the same period. Meanwhile, several analysts consider IonQ to be the most compelling investment among these stocks, with the company up 52% ​​in the final month of 2024, which is quite modest compared to its peers.

Mortgage rates rose for a second straight week, rebounding after falling earlier this month.

The latest Freddie Mac Junior Mortgage Survey shows the average interest rate on a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage was 6.85% as of Dec. 26, up from 6.72% last week and 6.61% a year ago.

The average 15-year fixed-rate mortgage was 6.0%, compared with 5.92% a week ago and 5.93% a year ago.

Now let’s take a look at market conditions as of 6am. The Dow, S&P and Nasdaq futures were all in the red before today’s opening bell. Crude oil rose 0.6% to $70 per barrel. Bitcoin rose nearly 1% to $96,000.

On world markets, the FTSE 100 rose 1% and the DAX fell 2%.

The stocks that rose the most premarket on the day were: American Battery Technology (ABAT) shares soared nearly 18.15% in early trading on Friday after the company entered into securities purchase agreements with several institutional investors to purchase and sell 3,773,586 shares of common stock and Warrants, the combined issuance price is $2.65 per share, and the warrants attached are “priced to market” under Nasdaq rules.
