Wildfire relief: Los Angeles team donates $8M; supplies distribution set for Friday

Los Angeles athletic teams said Monday they are committing $8 million to wildfire relief and announced three events to provide supplies to those affected by the fires.
The events are held at Dodger Stadium, SoFi Stadium and BMO Stadium, all on Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The groups said “proof of residence in evacuation zip codes” will be required and supplies will be provided to people who have lost or been evacuated from their homes.
In addition, the teams said “more than $8 million” in total donations will be distributed among organizations such as the American Red Cross, the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation and World Central Kitchen.
Participating teams: Dodgers, Angels, Lakers, Clippers, Rams, Chargers, Kings, Ducks, Galaxy, Los Angeles FC, Angel City FC and Sparks. Those teams — along with UCLA, USC, LA28 and a new pro golf team — joined with Fanatics to produce a line of “LA Strong” T-shirts and sweatshirts, with all profits going exclusively to the Mt. Fire rescue.
