Where was Severance season 2 filmed? All the filming locations in the gripping Apple TV series

Severance, the programme about people working in an office that you watch when you get home from a long, boring day working in the office, is now eight episodes into its second season. After starting out as one of the most claustrophobic series on TV – with much of the first season’s action taking place in underground, fluorescent-lit cubicles at the offices of the central characters’ mysterious employer Lumon Industries – the Apple TV+ programme has gradually been giving its motley cast more and more rein to roam, with this season taking them to real-life Canada, rural New York and New Jersey.
Minnewaska State Park Preserve
Season two has so far seen Mark, Helly, Irving and co. take a work camping trip away from Lumon, on an ORTBO (that’s an Outdoor Retreat Team Building Occurence) to Woe’s Hollow, a waterfall and frozen lake amid remote snowy woods. This was filmed at Minnewaska State Park Preserve in upstate New York’s Ulster County, about two and a half hours north of New York City. Specifically, scenes from Severance’s episode four were filmed around Sam’s Point, an area to the south of the state park, as well as Peterskill towards the north-east and Lake Minnewaska, the site of the waterfall. The preserve follows the line of the Shawangunk Ridge, a mountainous ridge near the town of Poughkeepsie, and offers views of the nearby Catskills.

Newfoundland and Labrador
Meanwhile, Patricia Arquette’s Harmony Cobel has returned to the fictional town of Salt’s Neck, a run-down seaside settlement in which she grew up and attended school. Scenes for this sequence were filmed further north than Minnewaska, in Canada – specifically in Newfoundland and Labrador. The Newfoundland peninsula town of Bonavista was one stand-in for Salt’s Neck, while Keels and Trinity Bay North, about five miles down the road from Bonavista, were others.
Holmdel, New Jersey
And naturally, Severance wouldn’t be Severance unless the lion’s share of its action took place in its uniquely oppressive office sets, and so the Lumon Industries building still looms large in most scenes. This huge building is the super-distinctive Bell Works in Holmdel, New Jersey, south of New York; in the show, Holmdel stands in for the town of Kier, where most of the characters live.
